Spamuse is a tribute site to the original Spamusement website by Steven Frank. The name of the site comes from a similar play on words, spam and amuse, but also muse. Spam subject lines serve as inspiration for the produced cartoons, as well as the original site’s inspiration for the style of cartoons.

To quote the original…

“Poorly-drawn cartoons inspired by actual spam subject lines!”

And that’s the gist of it.

Full credit goes to Steven for the idea, or at least the earliest incarnation of that I know of. I know that Steven has stated that he does not consider spamusement to be ‘dead’, but, I got tired of waiting. So, instead of wishing for it to return, I’m contributing.
